- But what is this? - A book of dialogues. - Just dialogues? - It has one or other intervention of the narrator, but the idea is that the story is sustained by the dialogues. "And can you do that?" "Why not?" - I do not know, I thought the dialogue was a technique, a resource, it's not like the story, the poetry. - Dialogue can be considered a genre, yes, even a narrative genre. He can tell stories, build characters, make us laugh, excite us. "I never imagined it, we hear so much it needs to be economical in the dialogues. "Open this book, you'll be surprised."

The texts of this collection show, in their heterogeneity, the richness of literature, insofar as the themes can be reiterated, but the ways of narrating them are limitless. And, perhaps, this is one of the great merits of this publication, to show by other voices, the polyphony that reinforces the image of literature as immense and fascinating mosaic that is always renewed. The book gathers selected short stories for the II Literary Contest of the Metamorphosis Courses. It focuses the anti-hero and engages an important dialogue with the literary tradition, but without losing sight of contemporaneity.

I have never been able to understand exactly why the good coexistence between sport and literature is unusual and difficult. Despite this, in “ In The Fog”, Mario Pool overcomes these difficulties and manages to seduce us with the story of the boy Raul and the super laser Ozzy, training for the races in Guaíba and Lagoa dos Patos. Adventure and mystery follow each other in an engaging way, offering a captivating suspenseful mood that has been drawn from the beginning. Impossible to avoid empathy with Raul, his goals, daydreams and anxieties. The adverse climate that the nautical sport sometimes provides offers in this novel confrontations with challenge, courage, solitude and humility to the natural and supernatural elements. Finally, embarking on the Ozzi in the waters of the south reveals an unforgettable adventure.

Franz Altman knew that his last moments of life had arrived. Throughout its existence, it has kept the greatest secret of World War II and watches over it. For years, he had kept away from the world everything he knew, in part, from the suffering and respect of families who were victims of war, partly from the memory of his German parents, who were also murdered by the Nazi regime. There, at his last bed, the 86-year-old footman listened to his heart saying that the past no longer belonged to him. The secret would succumb to him. Still, Franz knew that something still needed to be said; at least now. Who to trust? Perhaps in his newest and only friend, the young Pietro, a Brazilian passing through Villa La Angostura.

Writing is an act of empathy, and even more so
when we venture into writing at first
person. More than a simple change of
pronoun, first-person writing changes the
point of view, language, rhythm of the text.
When used well, this technique makes the reader
feel not only within the text, but living
the text and the story by the narrator. And this was the
challenge of the 35 authors of this book, whose variety
of themes, styles and narrators demonstrates how
first-person narration can be productive
- and how empathy is a necessary exercise
in times as hard as these.
